ANNIVERSARY SPORTS.

The sports which were put a stop to on Wednesday last by the unfortunate weather were resumed yesterday afternoon, when there was again a very good attendance of the public, and much interest was displayed in the various games. One decided novelty was introduced which caused much amusement, namely, tiking at the ring on velocipedes, at which some of the competitors proved great adepts. As darkness came on there was a general move in the direction of the hili side, where the various frame-works and rocket stands had been erected for the display of fireworks, which commenced at 8 o'clock with a discharge of rockets. Wheels, Jacks-in-the-box, flower pots, Roman candles, and every conceivable description of firework displayed their sparkling wonders, and loud were the expressions of delight tbat burst from the lips of the hundreds of youngsters, with whom the bill side was crowded, as the colored balls of fire shot up from the Eoman candles, each shedding a different light on the animated sceue. The display being over, dancing commenced in the large booth, which was soon filled, while, for the amusement of those who preferred to remain outside, several balloons were sent up. during the evening.
