Airedale, for the following report. The ss. Airedale, Captain Kennedy, left the Bluff at 4.30 p.m. on the 30th ult., experienced fresh northeast' winds and five weather, arriving at Port Chalmers next morning at 5 o'clock ; sailed from thence on the Ist inst. at 4.30 p.m., light northeast winds witb heavy bead sea; at 8.30 p.ra. the wind shifted to tbe south-west with heavy squalls of wind and rain, accompanied by vivid lightning, at midnight heavy gale and high following seas. Arrived at Lytellton at 10 a.m. on the 2nrj, and brought up witb 2 anchors, were unable to discharge any cargo, as no lighter could come alongside received mails and passengers and proceeded to sea at 8 p.m., fresh south-west gale throughout, atremendous sea breaking right across Wellington Heads, arrived alongside the wharf at 10 a.m. In consequence of tbe heavy sea the Airedale did not sail from thence till 6 a.m. on the 4th, had fresh southerly winds across the Straits, arriving at picton at 11 a.m., discharged cargo and sailed tor Nelson at noon, arriving here at 8.30 p.m.
