0 (From the Examiner.) Auckland (via Thames), February 1, 3.34 p.m. The miners' strike at Kawakawa is terminated, vine of the ringleaders were arrested by a posse of police. They all agreed to leave the district, and they will be replaced by new men. Telegrams to the Southern Cross [query, from Waikato] state that two settlers, named Carley and Crew, while shooting pigeons, were fired upon by natives. They returned., the fire and retreated, and believe that one native was wounded. Tapihana saw Whiti'tora, and expressed his intention to attack the Europeans. Whititora said the King would not consent. Tapihaua expressed his intention to disregard the King. Government telegrams state, that Tapihana detached eight men, with orders not to return without murdering some Europeans. Louis Hetit reports the arrival of 200 Chatham Islanders at Te Kuiti, but whether from Taranaki, or Te Kooti's followers, is unknown. Mr. M'Lean has gone to the Bay of Islands, in the Luna.
