The public wool sales terminated on the 29th November ; the attendance of home trade has been very good, but few foreign buyers were present, and, owing
to llio war, France wa^ntft represented ; near the close of the sale fresh buyers appeared, and the demand for the continent was more active, an.' prices were iiupi'oveJ, the sales closing with good feeling ; only 50,000 bales were held over for next sale, which commences February 2u«3. Sydney and Port Phillip are quoted at 611 to 25.; V;iu Diemeu'3 Luud at 5d to Is. lih; South Austarlia, 4d. to Is. 3J.; New Zealand, SJ. to Is. 9d.; Australian tallow, scarce and others flat ; beef, 425.; mutton, 435. 6d. to 435. 9d.
