Note. — In consequence of the increasing' difficulties which attend. tlie transmission through France of overland mails, addressed — via Marsailles, the Postmaster- General of London has determined on sending mails so addressed, 'until further notice, via Brindisi, Brenner, Pru-sia, and Belgium. The, rates of ..postage to be charged in New Zealand on correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Marseilles and Brindisi, will, therefore, be as follows :— . Rates via MARSEiLi/EsWd Brindisi. Letters. — Not exceeding £ dunce, Is. 3d, ; exceeding £ ounce and not exceeding 1 ounce, 2s. 6d. ; exceeding 1 ounce and not exceeding ll ounce, 3s. 9d ; and so on Is. 3J. for each -"> ounce or fraction of 4 ounce. . Newspapers under 4 ounces, each 4d. Book and Pattern Parcels. — Not exceeding 1 ounce, 2d. ; exceeding 1 ounce and not exceeding 2 ounces, 4d. ; exceeding i ounces and not exceeding 4 ounces, 7d. ; exceeding 4 ounces and not exceeding 8 ounces, ls. ?d.
