. Eesident Magistrate's Court. — In the case of Fisher and Aiken, trustees of the estate ol" J. C. Phillips, v. Milner, judgment was given ou Saturday for the defendant. "Boat Race. — A raoe which excited a great deal of interest amongst boating men took plaoe on Saturday afternoon between Mr. Wimsett's Bose, Mr. Franzen's Bruce, and Mr. Barley's Eclipse. The lead was taken from the first by the Eclipse, and retained by her for the first round, 'out ou going round the course the second time, she got ashore near the Powder Magazine, and thus lost all chance of the stakes, which were won by the Rose. • Telegraphic Communication with Auckland .—ln our issue of -Saturday last, we inserted a hurried paragraph founded upon information received just as we were going to press with regard' t» the telegraph to Auckland. As "we had not time then to gather the ful! particulars, we give tbem to-day. They, are as follows :— Telegrams for all the Auckland stations via Tauranga, are now receivable at the Nelson office until 4 p.m. every day (Sunday excepted), whence they will be forwarded to Auckland bya stearaer which leaves Tauranga each day at 4 o'clock,— -the distance between the Ports being. about 60 miles,— and returns from Auckland pn the following morning. •
