Omeo or Alhambra expected about the 15 th inst. X Note, — In consequence of the increasing difficulties which attend the transmission through France of overland mails, addressed via Marsailles, the Postmaster- General of London has determined on sending mails so addressed, until further notice^y'a Brindisi, Brenner, Prussia, and Belgium. The rates of postage to be - charged in New Zealand on correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Marseilles and Brindisi, •will, therefore, be as follows : — -Bates via Marseilles and BEiNuisr. r. Letters. — Not exceeding £ ounce, ls. 3d, ; exceeding i ounce* and not exceeding 1 ounce, 2s. 6d. ; exceeding 1 ounce and not exceeding lj ounce, 3s. 9d ; and co on ls. 3d* for each £ ounce pr fraction of jounce. \ \ AJ.
