Dec 25, steamer Charles Edward, 89, Holmes, from West Coast. Passengers—Mrs Saunders and 3 children, Mrs M'Gillivray, Judge Ward, Captain Leech, Messrs Fisher, Baylis, Calder, Miller, Brunetti, Caffin, Galland, M'Gillivray, Lightfoot, Ross, Oates, Harris, Munish, Bailey, Clear, Crossgay, Crawford, Webdale, Humphrey, Thomas, Healy, Coucklin, Hawkins, Filmer, Findlay, Stewart, Pratt, Sinclair, Keller, Brown, Jacks, Watson, Wright, Jones, Nasmyth, Tennent, Roberts, Burt. • The Anchor Line Co's steamer Charles Edward arrived at the Albion Wharf, at 7.30 a.m on Sunday, having left Nelson on the previous Monday, at 7 p.m; rarived at Westport at 6 p.m on Tuesday, and sailed again at 9 p.m on Wednesday, rerching Hokitika on Thursday, at 9 a.m.; left Friday at 9 a.m, arriving at Greymouth at 11 o'clock, and sailed the same night, at 11.30 for Westport; crossed the Buller Bar at 9 a.m on Saturday, leaving at 12.30. for Nelson. Experienced fine weather and light winds througout the voyage. She brought nearly 50 passengers to this port, attracted by cheap excursion rate3. Yesterday morning she left the wharf for a cruize in the Bay, and upwards of one hundred and fifty excursionists availed themselves of this opportunity of witnessing the Yacht Race, fc-he left again this morning for an excursion to various spots of interest in Golden Bay.
