The Anchor Line Company's s.s. Kennedy Captain Whitwell, arrived this morning at 3.30. She left Nelson at midnight, on Tuesday, the 13th instant, arrived off Westport at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, crossing the bar at 2 a.m. on Thursday. Left Westport at 4 pm. on Friday, but a heavy gale springing up from S.W. about 8 p.m., ran back to an anchorage under Cape Eoulwind. Got underweijrh at 4 a.m. on Saturday, and arrived off Hokitika at 1 p.m., crossing that bar at 3 o'clock. Sailed for Greymouth at 4 p.m. on Sunday, arriving there shortly after 6 the same evening. Left Greymouth at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, anchored outside Westport at 2 am. on Tuesday, crossed the bar at 7 a.m. Sailed again at 9.30 a.m., and arrived as above after a quick run of 18 hours. The Kennedy leaves for the West Coast Ports to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock.
