Sudden Death. — We regret to learn that Mr. Flowers, an old and respected settler, who for many years has been resident at Spring Grove, fell down dead in his house this morning at about 11 o'clock. Excursion Trips. — The owners of steamers plying on the coast of New Zealand seem determined to offer every inducement to the inhabitants to visit their fellow settlers in other Provinces, by providing them with the means of transit at extraordinary low rates. For next week, there are two of these excursion trips advertised, one to Taranaki and Manukau, by the s.s. Taranaki, and the other to Port Underwood, in the Charles Edward. The beautiful scenery in the French Pass, and at the entrance to Queen Charlotte's and Pelorus Sounds, are of themselves sufficient to tempt the most deiermined of stay-at-homes to avail themselves^ of so
excellent an opportunity, and we shall be much surprised on this occasion if the passenger list of the Charles Edward is not an unusually large one.
