Messes. McMeckan, Blackwood & Co's s.s. Rangitoto, H. Mackie, Commander, left Hobson's Bay at 7 p.m. on the 23rd instant, and passed Kent Group the next day at 10.20 a.m. Experienced moderate winds from S.E. to N.W , with heavy rain at times, to arrival at Hokitika, at 2.30 p.m. on the 28th. Left the following morning at 10 a.m., and arrived off the Grey at noon. Left at 4 p.m. for Nelson, arriving off the Boulder Bank at 10 a.m. on the 30th. Experienced variable winds with heavy rain during the passage.
