Cricket. — We notice that our cricketers are to meet for practice at the Botauical Gardens, this evening, in anticipation of the coming match with Wellington. Culliford Company. — The annual general meeting of the shareholders oi this company takes place at the Assembly Room, to-morrow evening, at half-pasi seven. General Government Prize Firing — The second firing for choice of representatives to go tb Auckland took place ai the Butts this morning among the members of the City Artillery, when the winners were Sergeant J. Smith, who scored 41 and Gunnner G. Dobb, who scored 33. Accident. — A serious accident occurret yesterday, at Raozau, to au old man uamec Wendleboro, 70 years of age, by tbe cap sizing of a wood cart, which fell upon him fracturing his right thigh. Dr. Park was sent for and performed tbe necessary ope ration, and we, are glad to learn from hii this morning that the sufferer is progress, ing favorably,
