CORRESPONDENCE.
THE POUT, NELSON. To the Editor op the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir, — Allow me through the columns of jour valuable paper to call the attention of the Police authorities to the necessity of an officer being stationed at the Port during the day. This afternoon I •witnessed a disgraceful scene. Two drunken men fighting on the road, and using disgusting language. A large number of men and boys looking on, but not a policeman to be found. As there are nt present several suspicious characters about this usually quiet part of the town, the Inspector would confer a boon on the inhabitants by takinn: the matter into consideration. I am, &c, Eesident. November 55, 1870. ,
