CRICKET MATCH.
NELSON v. MOTUEKA and TCIWAKAWe understand that this match is to come off on Saturday next, on the Motueka cricket ground. Play to commence as near as possible to 10 a.m., so that the game may be played out in one day. The Nelson players appear to entertain good hopes of upholding their prestige on this occasion, although their opponents are reported to be in a good state of efficiency and also very sanguine as to the result.
The following are the names of the gentlemen proposed to wield the willow on behalf of the metropolis of the province : Messrs. Claik, Wix, Drew, Cross, Taylor, Lloyd, M'Cube, D. Barnett, Corbett, Kilgour, and Vickerman, Mr. W. Mortimer having kindly consented to act as umpire. Arrangements have been made with the agent of the p.s. Lady Barkly to convey the players and admirers of the game to and from Motueka at the moderate fare of five shillings.
