Steamer Kennedy. — We notice, in our advertising columns that the Kennedy leaves to-morrow for Westport direct, returning to Nelson on Sunday. This is a capital opportunity for visiting that part of the province, on an absence of only three days. Christ Church Organ. — We understand that news has been received by the lately-arrived mail to the effect that the building of the organ is being proceeded with, and it is hoped that by the ship that follows the Beautiful Star, which sailed in September last, the instrument may be despatched. Resident Magistrate's Court. — Richard Dolan, a stowaway on board the steamer Airedale, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, with hard labor. R.Phillips, a passenger on board the Airedale, charged with assisting to stow Dolan away, was reprimanded and discharged. D. Stewart, A. Black, J. Mills, J. M'Donald, and R. Townsend, for allowing cattle and horses to stray, were fined in the usual penalty. Frederick Thomason, charged with stealing £l from J. A. Harman, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment, with hard labor. Elizabeth Mayo, brought up under the Vagrancy Act, was sent to gaol for a month.
