On this occasion TEN DOUBLE-ACTION CENTRAL FIRE BREECH- LOADING REVOLVERS will be Given to be competed for by the undermentioned Volunteers, viz : — No. 1 City Rifles 2 Revolvers Waimea Rifles 2 „ Nelsox Artillery 2 „ Wakapuaka Artillery ... 2 „ Cadets 2 „ The first four Companies will fire at ranges of 300, 400, and 500 yards; five shots at each range; target, 6ft. by 6ft. The Cadets will fire at ranges of 100, 150, and 200 yards; targets, 6ft by 4ft. Any position, without artificial rest. The Eules and Regulations adopted for the last General Government prize competition in other respects to be strictly adhered to. No prize will be given to any person who does not score thirty points. No person will be allowed to compete for these prizes whose name is not now on the present roll. No person will be entitled to one of these prizes who has already won a Provincial Government Prize Revolver. The Firing for the Revolvers will take place on the respective Practice Grounds of each Company, commencing at Nine o'clock a.m. ONE of HENRY'S' REPEATING RIFLES will be Given as a CHAMPION PRIZE, and may be Shot for by THREE from EACH COMPANY who Score the highest- number of pointa when competing forthePrizeßevolvers,and by the Winners of previous Prizes Given by the Provincial Government, whose na:: c? are on the present roll. The FIRING for the CHAMPIONSHIP will take place on the CITY SHOOTING GROUND, on THURSDAY, the loth day of December, under the superintendence of the Adjutant.
