NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.
Friday, September 23 . Present : All the members but Mr. Black. The question of gravelling portion of the Wairaea-road ; a letter from Mr. Burford relative to repairing the Havenroad near the limekiln ; and the erection of a lamp at the corner of Examiner-street and Tratalgar-square, were referred to the Public Works Committee. TIPAHI STREET. The following tenders for draining Tipahi-street were received ; Charles Blecher, £14 10s. ; Perkins and Blythe, £18 2s. 6d.; R. Gillespie, £19 19 6d. The tender of Blecher was accepted. HORSES AND CARTS. The following tenders for the supply of horses and carts whenever required by the Board were received ; W. Osman, one horse, cart and driver 14s. per day of 8 hours ; two horses, one cart and driyer, 21s. per day ; R. Grant for the same, 14s. 9d. and 235. 9d. The former of the two was accepted. The signing of the warrant for assesmeat was deferred until uest Board night. A letter was received from the Provincial Government stating that £200 had been placed to the credit of the Board. The Board then adjourned until Friday the 7th October.
