The Anchor Line Co's steamship Kennedy, arrived from the West Coast yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She left Nelson on Thursday last at 1.30 p.m.; experienced light S.E. wind, and arrived off Westport at 10 a.m. following morning, crossing the bar at noon; discharged 18 tons cargo; shipped 4,173 ozs. gold; and sailed for Greymouth at 2 a.m. on Saturday, crossing that bar at 1 p.m. same day; landed cargo, look in 18 tons coal, and sailed again for Hokitika at 2 p.m. on Sunday, arriving there shortly after 4. Owing to the shallowness of the river could not get alongside wharf. On Monday moored the ship to the North Spit, and discharged a large cargo on the beach; sailed at 3 p.m. for Greymouth, arriving at 5.30. Left that port at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, crossed the Buller bar at 4.30.; sailed again at, 6 p.m., and arrived as above. Passed the Cos. steamer Lyttelton at 8 p.m. on Tuesday abreast the Wbite Cliffs. Experienced light S.W winds on the passage up. The Kennedy is announced to leave for the West Coast ports tomorrow morning at 9.
