The Anchor Line Co's steamer Charles Edward arrived at the .Albion wliarf this morning from Wanganui via the West Coast ports. Captain Holmes reports leaving here on Tuesday the 6th, arriving at Wanganui the following morning, .at daybreak, after a rough passage across the Straits., Left on Thursday, at 10 a.m., with a full load of stock, and arrived off the Buller on Friday at noon, crossing the bar on the evening tide. Left again on Saturday morning, and reached Hokitika at 10 p.m. Sailed next morning at 9 o'clock for Greymouth, arriving two hours afterwards. Took in 90 tons of coal, and left oh Monday at midnight, crossing Westport bar at 10 a.m. yesterday. Left at 1.30 p.m. for Nelson, experienced fine weather on the passage up, and arrived as above. She leaves again to-night for Wanganui and Manukau.
