Considerable quantities, amounting to 2343 bales, were offered on June 29, but there was only a little demand, and it was mostly withdrawn. Dr. Featherstone has visited the manufacturing districts of Scotland with the view of ascertaining the best uses of New Zealand flax, and he says tbat bright and clean fibre would be largely used at £30. The American market would likely take a quantity. I>°yyy A ship load of New Zealand flax]j has been sent to Canada.
