CORRESPONDENCE.
o ACCLIMATIZATION. To the Editor of the Nelson Kvexixg Mail. Sin — As your paper lias the credit of being well acquainted with all matters of local interest, I would ask you to inform me if our Acclimatization Society is still j in existence. I noticed a paragraph in one of your' late issues to the effect that some Australiau quail bad arrived, but you did not say whether it was intended to keep them in confinement oi*- to turn them out. I venture to say tbat tlie subscribers would wish to know what progress, if any, the Society has made within the last two years, as I believe tbat time has elapsed since the last general meeting was held for the purpose of receiving the Annual Report of the Hon. Secretary. I would suggest that a meeting be called at an early date, in order that we may receive some information on this head. Yours, &c., A Stjbsckibee. For remainder of News see Fourth page.
