The Southland JSeios reports that the Meat Preserving Company at Woodlands promises to fulfil the expectations of its promoters. It is observed that prices of large and small cattle are firmer of late, and there can be no doubt that this has been brought about by the opening up of a new and steady market for surplus stock. When unmarried ladies get votes, ■what will their rule be but Miss-rule ?
