The objects of this Company are to take up protective licenses, with prospective leases, of supposed auriferous lands adjoining the River Maitai. and in the ranges on the Eastern side of Blind Bay, whereon to search for gold and otlier minerals, and to prove any discoverie-3 thereol which ni'iy be made, with the view, if satisfactory, of establishing Companies for working same. The Company has already made advantageous arrangements for leases with several owners of land in the districts referred to — containing a choice of 200 acres in the aggregate, out of an extent of country embracing 4,000 acres — on come of which promising quartz-reefs have lately been discovered, exhibiting traces of gold sufficient to warratt further exploration. The benefits which may be derived by parties joining the Company are as follows :— -Tbey will be entitled to their respective share of any advantages — whether in money or shares — that may be arranged for with any other Companies which may be established, to lease or purchase the interest of any mineral ground belonging to this Company. In addition to its other merits, this undertaking recommends itself to the public as a means, not only of further developing the mineral resources ol the province, but of indirectly benefiting the City of Nelson by the expendimre, the Company's operations, if successful, would necessarily occasion. To enable the Company to carry out its views, it is proposed to raise a capital of £500, in 500 shares of £1 each ; ss. to be pnid on application, and the remainder in calls not exceeding ss. each, at intervals of not less than one month. Applications for shares, in the annexed form, accompanied by a cash deposit ol ss. per share, to be made to the Company's B inkers, the Bank of New Zealand, or to Messrs. < urtis Brothers.
