Steamer Kennedy.— Messrs. N. Edwards and Co.'s s.s. Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, arrived yesterday morning at 8 o'clock. She left Nelson on Saturday, 6th, at 4 p.m; experienced light S.E, winds and arrived off Westport at noon on Sunday crossing the bar at 3 o'clock ; discharged 18 tons cargo and shipped 4213 ozs. gold for Hokitika; was detained until Wednesday evening in Wes tport owing to the unsettled state of the weather. Arrived off Hokitika at 7.30. a.m. on Thursday transhipped Melbourne passengers to s.s Golhenburg, and crossed the bar at 10 am. discharged 39 tons cargo and sailed again at 9 p.m. for Greymouth, arriving there shortly before midnight ; discharged 10 tons cargo, received 53 tons coal and sailed for Westport at 1 1 p.m on Friday arrived there at 6 a.m. on Saturday.. Sailed from that port at noon passed ihe Co.'s steamer Charles Edward from Wanganui to Westport at 4 p.m. and the Lyttelton for Wanganui at 8 p.m., and arrived as above. She leaves again for the West Coast ports to-morrow morning at eleven.
