The s.s. Phcebe, Captain Worsp, left the Bluff at 4 p.m. on the 22nd, arriving at Port Chalmers at 7.40 a.m. on the 23rd, having been under easy steam from 2 a.m. awaiting daylight. Left at 4.45 p.m. on the 25th, and arrived at Lyttelton at 11.40 a.m, on the 26th; sailed again next day at 4.40 p.m., arriving in Wellington at 4.40 p.m. 1 on the 28th. Left Wellington at 4 a.m. on the 31st, arriving at Picton at 9.30 a.m.; left again for Nelson at 10.30 same morning, and arrived off the Boulder Bank at 8.15 p.m. The Phosbe experienced light variable winds with fine weather to Lyttelton, thence to Wellington strong N.E. gale with heavy sea and thick weather and rain. Left Wellington with strong breeze from S.E., accompanied with heavy rain; from Picton, fine calm weather.
