The s.s Kennedy, Captain Whitwell, arrived from the West Coast last evening at 7 o'clock. She left Nelson on Wednesday the 25th ult. at 7 p.m. and arrived off Westport on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock ; crossed the bar at 4.30 p.m. Sailed for Hokitika at 8 p m. on Friday, and got in at 7.30 p.m. following morning; discharged cargo and sailed again for Greymouth at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Reached that port at 9.15 a.m.; left on Monday morning at 11 for Westport; arrived at 8 p.m., and sailed again at 10 r 3O p.m. for Nelson arriving as above. Experienced easterly winds with dark cloudy weather on the down trip, and light S.E. winds and fine weather during upward passage.
