By the Lady Barkly, whicli returned from Collingwood yesterday, we learn that the prospects of the various companies in the Golden Bay district are encouraging.
The Perseverance machinery is in full working order, and it is expected that the flrst crushing will take place next week.
From the Wangapeka we hear that a shaft which has been sunk on the Culliford claim at a considerable distance irom where the stone was originally discovered has struck the reef at a depth of 45 feet. '
