Cricket. — A match was played on Saturday between the clubs of the upper and lower districts of Wakapuaka, which resulted in a victory for the latter who scored 81 in the first innings, against 45 aud 36 respectively in the first and second innings of their opponents, thus winning the game with 10 wickets to go down. Country Road Boards Bill. — A numerously attended meeting was held at the Star and Garter Hotel, Richmond, on Saturday evening, for the purpose of discussing the provisions of this bill. Mr. Bamicoat and Mr. Kelling, as the representatives of the district, gave their opinions on the various clauses, and Mr. Shephard, who was present, was called upon, as chairman of the select committee to make a few remarks. Eventually a resolution was unanimously passed in favor of the retention of the tollgate.
