NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the ELECTION of THREE MEMBERS of the BOARD of WORKS, to Supply the Vacancies which have occured by the Resignations of Messrs. Akkksten, Hooper, and Webb, will take place at a MEETING of RATEPAYERS to be held in the MARKET-PLACE, at Noon, on MONDAY, the 2nd day of MAY, instant. In the event of a Poll being demanded, the Polling will take place on the following day, commencing at Noon, and Closing at Four o'clock p.m. Of the Three Members to be elected, Two will hold office until the last Monday in the month of July, 1871, and the other until the last Monday in the month of July, in the present year, and it has been decided that the persons who stand first and second highest on the Show of Hands or on the Poll, as the case may be, shall be elected in the place of Messrs.
