To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir — As everything relating to the allabsorbing topic of quartz aud quartz companies is interesting, perhaps you will find room for the followiug quotation from a West Coast paper: — " There was a report lately that some quarlz-leaders had been found in the Mai-tai-valley, in the immediate vicinity of Nelson. Mr. James Sims, Consulting MiniDg Engineer, reports — ' Tdo not think the leaders are gold-bearing, as they appear to have beeu scattered by volcanic action, and are intermixed with rotten slate of recent formation.'
