Left on Friday at 4, followed immediately by the John Pmn, cleared the Manukau heads that evening at 6 o'clock. Experienced strong S.W. winds all Saturday. Left the John Perm out of sight off Taranaki. Towards evening the breeze freshened to a gale, rin which she lost her jib and staysail, and after a &ard struggle arrived in Nelson" as above.
