Theatrical. — The Star Company will have no reason to complain of want of appreciation of dramatic talent on the part of the Nelson public. On Saturday night another full house was assembled to witness the fascinating drama of "Lady Audley's Secret," and loud and welldeserved was the praise which greeted the rendering of her difficult part by that charming and accomplished actress, Mrs. Harry Jackson. " Box and Cox," and the absurd farce of " Mr. and Mrs. White," with its dancing and singing accompaniment followed, aud kept the audience highly amused until a late hour. To-night there is to be a complete change of programme, including " The Jacobite," the laughable comedietta the " Day after the Weddiug," and concluding with the farce of " Family Jars." New Mail Route. — A letter has been received by the N, S. W. Governmeut from Messrs. Cumraina and Co,, of London, in which it is stated that a committee of English and Australian gentlemen formed in London has concluded arrangements for a line of steamers from Milford Haven to Portland and another line in correspondence from San Francisco to Sydney. The company is prepared to carry mails on the following terras : — Ships to average from 2500 to 3500 tons ; Every voyage to he performed within 40 days to Sydney ; Security to be given to the satisfaction of the Government ; Subsidy to be £1000 for each voyage ; Contract to be for ten years. The Company will undertake the conveyance of passengers from London and the chief cities and towa£?&f * ..^toss?i*A^
