THE WANGAPEKA.

o Mr. Marchant returned from the Wangapeka yesterday afternoon, having completed the object of his missioD, namely, the survey of the lines from the two principal peaks of the Mount Owen group to Mount Arthur. No official report has yet been furnished to the Government, but Mr. Marchant states that a line taken from the highest and westernmost peak of the group throws the purchased land 396 yards within the South-west Goldfields. This, we are informed, is the distance between the boundary line and Culliford's claim, but as there are other purchases to the southward of that block, they will be still nearer to the boundary, but not so much so, we believe, as to exclude them from the goldfield.
