Pioneer Company. — A special meeting of this company is called for this evening at 8 o'clock, at the Trafalgar Hotelt Busiuess of importance, connected with the late discovery of copper on the Company's ground, will, we understand, be discussed. Nelson Races. — A meeting of the Turf Club will be held at the Masonic Hotel, at 4 p.m. io-morrow, to decide on a programme for the ensuing races, which are to take place sometime in April. Lancashire Bell Ringers. — We need hardly remind our readers that the Bell Ringers are to give one of their charming entertainments at the Assembly Rooms this evening. Nelson Regatta. — A meeting of the Regatta Committee takes place at the Custom House Hotel, to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock. We are glad to hear that the subscription list is gradually increasing, but as there are still a few more pounds wanting, the Committee will be thankful for any further assistance. Theatrical. — The performance at the Odfellows Hall on Saturday night was decidedly the best yet given by the talented little company now in Nelson. The actiug of Mr S. Howard as Captain Copp in King Charles 11, called forth the loudest approbation from all sides, but to our mind, Mrs Jackson as Mary, was fully as good; in fact the acting and get up were far superior to any thing ever seen in Nelsou. It 13 a great pity that this company is not more largely patronised, as those who absent themselves are losing a treat which they may not have placed within their reach again for some time. Another performance is to given to-night, when we hope to see a better attendance.
