:, A Melbourne paper says that the app. al made to the public on behalf of the family of the Rev. Mr. Hill, murdered while discharging the.duties of his office, has been nobly responded to. By the exertions chiefly of the Ministers of the Wesleyan body, the sum of £2,819 9s lOd has been realised by contributions made all over the Colony. This sum, together with the £2,500 voted by the Parliament, will be handed over to the trustees, and invested in colonial securities. The interest will be devoted to the education of the children, amongst whoro, when they come of „age, the principal will be equitably divided.
