Thomas Webb Draper, late accountant at the Commercial Bank, Melbourne has lately come to grief. It apears that about a month since, his accounts being found not quite correct, he was allowed to resign, since which time he has . been staying at his residence, St. Kilda j but, upon the arrival of the mail, by advices received, it was discovered that there were serious deficencies in his accounts, he having paid large suras of money into .his own account, instead of remittiog them to the London agency of the bank, and then forging the receipt for the amount. It is said the total deficency will amount to between £.1 5,000' and £20,000. Later telegrams state', that Draper has been committed for trial.
