The Circular Saw Co's s.s. Phoebe, Capt. H. "Worsp, arrived off the lighthouse at 7 a.m. this morning. She left the wharf, Manukau, at noon on the sth instant, in charge of the pilot; on going down got ashore and remained there till the following tide, when she got off and came to anchor; at 4 a.m of the 6th weighed and proceeded down the harbor, wben she again got ashore on the bank, steamed off again and went on to the heads; being too late on the tide to take the bar, came to anchor until high water; started at noon for Taranaki under easy steam, arriving at 7 a.m. on the 7th; landed mails, passengers, and cargo, and sailed for Nelson at 2 p.m. Experienced strong S.W. winds and a heavy sea in crossing the strait.
