AUCKLAND RACES.
These races came off in the early part of this week, the first day being a regular " soaker," the rain never ceasing from morning till night. Owing to our files being incomplete we are unable to give the result of the second day's racing. The following are the events in which Nelson horses were engaged, which came off on the first and third days : — Maiden Plate, 100 soys., entrance, 10 soys., 1£ miles. Mr. M'Gee's Maori Weed 1 Mr. Stafford's Lady Florence ... 2 Tour others ran. Innkeepsrs' Purse, 50 soys., entrance, 5 soys., li miles. Mr. Stafford's Nebula 1 Mr. Walker's Slander 2 Two others ran. Metropolitan Handicap, 200 soys., 2 miles. Won by Mr. Hunt's Kaiser. Mr. Stafford's Lacenfeed ran, but was nowhere. Garrison Plate, 60 soys. entrance 5 soys. 1 J miles. Mr. Stafford's Nebula 1 Mr. Walter's Numa 2 Auckland Handicap, 50 soys., entrance, 1 soy., 1J miles. Mr. Stafford's Nebula 1 Mr. Walter's Orlando 2 Two others ran. Consolation Handicap, 20 soys., entrance, 2 soys. Won by Mr. Walter's Yatterina, Mr. Stafford's Lacenfeed coming in third.
