Scientific Association.— The meeting of this Society has beeu adjourned uutil this evening at 8 o'clock. Inspection Parade. — Volunteers are reminded that the usual monthly inspection parade of the City Artillery and No. 1 Rifles is to take place at the Botanical Gardens this evening at half-past 6. The Goose Again. — The shade of the departed goose, whose tragic end was recorded in our columns yesterday, seems likely to haunt our Courts of Law for some time, the defeudant in the case having given notice of appeal against the judgment' of the Resident Magistrate. Transfer of License. — An application was made this, morning, before J. .Sharp, Esq.j RM.,, ahd , A. Mackay, Esq., J.P., fpr a transfer of _ the license for the Lord Nelson Hotel to Wm. Jones. Application granted. The Wanganui Papers mention that a fleece weighing 17f lbs. has been shorn from a half-bred Merino and Lincoln hogget.
