The Superintendency. — The returns of the polling were received from the Amuri to-day, but they do not affect the total to any great extent, the whole number of votes polled being six, the whole of, which were for Mr. Curtis. This makes the total number of votes polled by Mr. Curtis exactly 900, being a majority of 540 over Mr. Akersten, and 611 over Mr. Gibbs. Nomination op Members for the Town. — The nomination of Candidates for the representation of the City of Nelson is advertised to take place at the Provincial Hall to-morrow, at noon. At piesent there are five Candidates in the field — Messrs. Adams, Greenfield, Burn, Luckie, and Collins. Our reporter, who had been indulging in visions of a pleasure trip to Motueka, and the delights of breathing the fresh country air, after being boxed up in his office for some months, grumbles sadly, and not altogether without reason, that the Returning Officer should have rudely dispelled all his delicious dreams by fixing upon a public holiday for the nomination, and looks forward with but little pleasure to being condemned to spend a couple of hours in the hot, stuffy, political atmosphere of the Hall, instead of revelling in the purer and more refreshing breezes which he anticipated enjoying on the deck of the good ship Lady Barkly- However, the fiat has gone forth, and for him "to hear is to obey," he therefore consoles himself with the hope that the Caudidates, in pity to the reporters, will put all they have to say into as few words as possible.
