The Nelson Evening Mail. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1869. NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.
Fkidat, sih November. Present : All the members but Mr. Akersten. The Finance Committee reported that they had examined the books and found the accounts all correct. Oq the motion of Mr. Burn, it was resolved that the Surveyor be instructed to have the footpaths gravelled aud the water-tables cleared out in all the streets iu the Wood. The resignation of Mr. Akersten was received and read, and oq the motion of Mr. Black, it was ordered to lie on the table until the next meeting: of the Board. A discussion then ensued relative to getting a supply of Duq Mountain stODe, and the Surveyor was instructed to order £100 worth previous to the rails being takeu up, on condition that the Manager would construct a branch, line into the premises of the Board and discharge the trucks there. Plans and specifications were ordered to be drawn up for improvements in Hampdeu and Kawai-streets. The Board then adjourned until Friday, the 19th inst.
