The Officers of the U.S.S. Kearsage appear to have enjoyed their" visit to Sydney, where they have been feted to a great extent. ' By Australian telegrams we notice that a picnic was given to them, which proved a most successful affair. The company in all numbered about 70, and were taken down the bay by the steamer Vesta, which, having sailed alongside ot the Kearsage, aud taken on board twenty officers, proceeded to Clontarf. -Tlie company disembarked early in the forenoon and spent a few hours on shore in a most agreeable manner. Ou the following day his Excellency the Governor paid an official visit to the ship, and was received with the honors becoming his rank, the yards beiug manned and a salute fired. His Excellency gave a ball to the officers at Government House on the same evening. An extraordinary accident happened on Saturday at Melang. Two horsemen riding in opposite directions came into collision, causing the instant death of both horses, and giving the riders a serious shaking.
