Whaling.— Recently we chronicled the good fortune of the whalers in the Sound this season. On Tuesday last, as the Storm Bird was going into the Sound on . her outward trip, she passed & very large school of whales; but the weather was so exceedingly rough that the boats of the station were unable to put off. On her return trip, the Storm Bird brought another consignment of 50 barrels oil from the Sound. — - Wellington Independent, July 27. ; .;. ■,-•; '. ..„ .
