I Supreme "CtitiKT. — The case of Tasker v. Jervis whiclV'lias occupied tbe Court during the whole of yesterday and to-day, terminated ill is afternoon in favor of the plaintiff. The case-of Regina v. Wilson, for perjury, comes on to-tnorrow morning at 10 o'clock* Resident Magistrate's Court. — The following statistics show the number of cases brought before this Court during the quarter ending 30th June last: — Civil summonses issued, 174 ; civil cases heard, 60. Criminal caseSi 142. For the corresponding quarter of last year the numbers stood thus:— Civil summonses issued, ] 10; civil cases heard, 46. Criminal cases, 134. Winter Evening- Lectures. — We would remind our readers that the fourth lecture of the series will be delivered at the Provincial Hall, to-morrow evening, by the Rev. G-. H*. Johnstone, who has chosen for his subject "Advancement and Success -> in Lifer j Catholic Church, Wakefield. — We are requested to- call attention to an advertisement which appears in another column calling for tenders for the erection „•' of a church at Wakefield, the first contractor having declined to carry out the ■work.
