, A. Concerted Movement. —It is now generally known that a concerted movement is being organised. Colonel Whitmore, at the head of a considerable force, is at Ahikereru, preparatory to entering the Uriwera country. An expedition, intended to start from Wairoa, and to enter that country from the eastern side, j so as to co-operate with Colonel Whitmore, is being prepared. We have no semi-official information on the subject, but we understand that Mr. Richmond has gone in the St. Kilda to secure the services of Ngatiporou ; that the ' Constabulary sent to Mohaka are likely to go on to Wairoa, if they have not already done so ; and that the Ahuriri, upon her return from the Lyttelton with the Constabulary, will immediately steam to Wairoa with them on on board, in addition to any Ahuriri natives whose services may be found to be available. The expedition will be under command of Lieut. Colonel Herriclc.
