The second, £15, was won by Wales, of Otago, score, 38. The third, by Clode. of Riverton, score, 35. The fourth, by Robertson, of Otago, score, 35. The cadets' contest was most exciting ; Pickering of Marlborough, Adams, of Nelsou, and Sinclair, of Marlborough, tied, 14 points. In shooting off, Pickering was first, and Adams secoud. In a conditional match, at 700 and 800 yards, in which 30 points scored enabled the scorer io take a prize, M 'Farlane was the highest, making 29, viz., 10 at 700, 19 at 800 yards. The day was miserable — a strong southwest gale was blowing across the range. It was almost impossible to see the tai'gets. The dinner was a great success.
