The Spanish Government are said to be in possession of information respecting conspiracies directed by Generals Pezuela, Galonge, and ■ Gasset in favor of Isabella. The scenery of the last pantomime at the Standard Theatre, London, was painted on seven miles of canvas. Twelve ladies appeared in a dance at the Covent Garden pantomime, whose dresses were said to have cost 400 guineas. A writer in the Leisure Hour calculates that a copy of the Times, with its full supplement, contains about 20,000 lines or 20'\000 words, and .is equal to a printed octavo volume of 500 pages, The most rapid writing of a lawyer's clerk, if'he wrote for ten hours a day, would not he able to transcribe it in less than a fortnight. The French Blue-book issued states that the strength of the French army on the Ist of last December was'^34,2Bo men in the active army, 198,540 in the reserve, and 381,723 in the National Mobile Guard, or in all about a million of men. A large meeting has been held in London, at which several members of Parliament attended, when resolutions were passed declaring the necessity for the adoption of the ballot, deter.mining on an agitation, and approving a petition for presentation to Parliament.
