By the Eangitoto which came to port yesterday morniug, we are in possession of both the Panama and Suez mails, a portion of that which should have been sent by the former, having come by the later route. We are somewhat surprised that commercial men in England adopted this course, as they surely ought to have known, that at least one more mail via Panama, would be dispatched, and their -correspondents here should have had the benefit of the time. In wool there is evidently an upward tendency but the market is unsettled, and solvent firms are afraid to invest largely. However, prices at last sales, shew at least Id per lb. advance, and they may go up 2d or 3d by next accounts; but the impression in money circles is, that it is not prudent to speculate upon a rise for this year's cilip, ; ;: DisoouNTir—Theßank of England rate advanced on ,19th November, \ per cent., ''■i. and on 3rd, December, another A, and quotations are, at Jatest. adyipes^3 per cent., and; expected to go higher. -} ■^,'Tallow ■l'^and '/■•'grain markets are both wheat selling. : d^-^^s;p^.b.ushel.' : ;,", ,"• •.
