Public Notices. To the Justices of the Peace acting in and for the Province of Nelson, New Zealand. I THOMAS ASKEW, now residing in 9 Nelson, do hereby give notice that it is my intention to apply at the next Licensing Meeting to be holden for. the said Province, for a Licenbe for the Sale of Spirituous Liquors, Wine, Ale, Beer, and Porter, in the house anu appurtenances thereunto belonging, situated in Bridge-street, in the city of Nelson, and at present unlicensed and unoccupied. Poynter, Esq., begs to announce that he haj OPENED the same as a PUBLIC TEA GARDEN and RECREATION GROUND, where all who desire to form pleasure parties within easy access from the centre of the city can do so at small expense, while they will enjoy the salubrious sea air, splendid views, and a ramble amid 10 acres of pleasure ground. No charge for admission. Tea and other Refreshments supplied to thosa who may desire the same. Boiling water will be supplied to tea parties, if required, at a small charge.
