CORRESPONDENCE.
LITTLE CADETS & BIG GUNS. To the Editor op the Nelson Evening MailSir — Will you be kind anough to give me a little room in your ' Evening Mail ' to make a complaint about the arrange- i ment for the Cadet firing, I see in this evening's copy thnt we are to firo with the same Rifles that the men use, which would be first rate, sir, if we could do it, but I am only a small boy, and although I am very anxious to get a prize (and thiuk I should staud avery good chance with fair play), I really have not strength to ; hold these heavy Rifles up to take aim, and I feel sure there are a good number no stronger than I am, aud then again, sir, whoever goes to Dunedin will have to fire with the small carbines the same as all the others use, and will have no chance of practice till they get there. Now, Mr Editor, don't you think we could have half a dozen of our own carbines sent up from Wellington, just to fire with for the prizes. I am, etc., A Small Cadet.
